Support UAA Students

As our students face the challenges presented by COVID-19, here are some ways you can help.So far, we've raised $26,460 - 100 gifts!

UAA students need your support!

When the University of Alaska announced in March that students would not be returning to campus in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, many of you reached out to ask how you could help.

The pandemic has created a challenge unlike anything the university has faced in recent history, and we send our best wishes for health and safety to all of our alumni and friends. The Seawolf family is coming together to help UAA meet the challenge and support students during this time. Thank you to all who have reached out to help!

You can support current UAA students through one of the following efforts:

  • UAA’s Student Support Fund was created in 2002 to help students who are facing challenging times. This fund provides financial assistance, aid for housing displacement, medical emergency relief and more for students who experience unexpected hardships. During the current pandemic, funds are needed now more than ever. In recent months, more than 189 students impacted by COVID-19 have requested assistance from the fund.

Your support of this fund will ensure that today's students have the funds they need to stay in school and complete their degrees.

“Because of COVID-19 I lost one of my jobs and my hours were severely cut in my second job. I was looking at not being able to pay my rent. Because of the aid I’ve received, I no longer have to worry about losing my housing. All I can say is thank you.” -UAA Student Support Fund recipient

  • UAA’s Emergency Food Cache supports students who may not be able to afford food. Our Seawolf family has stepped up to ensure that students' most basic needs are met during the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as looking out for future Seawolves through the Emergency Food Cache. The cache provides students in need with a three-day supply of food at a time. While the cache cannot accept food donations at this time, your gift of cash will allow us to secure more food for our students.

We are following CDC and state guidelines for social distancing, but that doesn’t stop our Seawolves from coming together online. Together, we will ensure that our students are supported through these times, continue their education and leave their mark on the world.

Thank you, and stay well and safe
