Many Alaskans have to travel far from home to seek medical care. Your loved ones deserve urgently available, local care by doctors they trust.

Alaska has hundreds of unique rural and remote communities, with 75% of Alaska inaccessible by road. This isolation limits access to healthcare. To address this issue, UAA trains locals to be doctors right in our home state.
Will you help Alaskans with financial need attend medical school in Alaska?
WWAMI School of Medical Education has been in Alaska since 1971 and is consistently rated #1 in primary care. Alaska WWAMI Program teaches the basic and clinical sciences, and introduces students to rural health care early in their medical education. These medical students take their first two years of classes at UAA, then train in specialty areas almost entirely in Alaska--or they can branch out to gain valuable experiences in several Western states. This excellent program prepares doctors to stay and practice medicine in their home state.
Helping Alaskans afford medical school keeps doctors here where we need them.
