Support the Road to Exhibition for Bus 142

The historic Bus 142, also known as “Stampede Trail Bus”, “Magic Bus”, or “Into the Wild Bus”, was removed from state land near Healy, AK in June 2020. The UA Museum of the North is now the official repository of Bus 142. A multi-year process of cataloging, preserving, interpreting, and exhibiting this iconic piece of Alaska history has begun. The museum is responsible for the costs of this immense project and must raise funds to share it with the public. The result will be an outdoor exhibition that shares the unique story of Bus 142, beginning as a public transit vehicle in Fairbanks in the 1940’s up to its removal from the Stampede Trail in 2020. The exhibition plans include a comprehensive security plan to ensure the safety and protection of the bus and its visitors. Importantly, the exhibition will be publicly accessible and available to visitors at no cost.
